Tinos Think Tank (Nootrofos Tinos): Dr Avi Shlaim’s lecture

Gaza and the history of Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Professor Avi Shlaim, FBA

Monday July 1st 2024 @ 20:00

When Dr. Avi Shlaim first presented the history of the Palestinian problem and the prospects for its resolution in Tinos in 2019, he impressed with his straightforwardness and objectivity in assigning blame for this international issue that has plagued peoples for nearly a century. Today, in conditions of war and total destruction, the professor will present the data and the prospects for resolving the problem within these new conditions, as well as the broader context of contemporary Middle Eastern politics.

Avi Shlaim is an Emeritus Professor of International Relations at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of the British Academy. His books include: War and Peace in the Middle East: A Concise History Revised and Updated (1995), The Iron Wall: Israel and the Arab World (2014), Lion of Jordan: The Life of King Hussein in War and Peace (2007), and Israel and Palestine: Reappraisals, Revisions, Refutations (2009).
